Nicole Elllington LPC LPAS

Nicole Ellington, LPC LPAS

After receiving a BA in Psychology at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH and a MA in Counseling at Marymount University in Arlington, VA I began practicing counseling working with a wide variety of populations to include substance abusing adolescents and adults, incarcerated adolescents, families, adolescents who are at risk of being removed from their home, active duty Service Members, and adults and adolescents suffering from a wide variety of mental health disorders. Some of the issues I have experience working with include but are not limited to addictions, depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, emotional dysregulation, burnout, interpersonal conflict, bipolar disorder, ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder, and conduct disorder. I’ve been lucky to have a wide variety of work experience since 2005 including community mental health/substance abuse, intensive in-home services, out-patient substance abuse treatment and out-patient services for active duty service members. I went through intensive training with Duke University in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and I use the DBT philosophy regularly in my practice. Through having a diverse range of clinical experiences, I have been able to continuously discover and nurture my passion for providing therapeutic services in the community. I provide a safe, genuine therapeutic relationship where individuals can feel comfortable to explore their challenges and mindfully increase the balance, acceptance and change in their life. I am committed to assisting clients on their journey of self-discovery, working through life’s struggles and developing a life that’s worth living."
