Larry Bernstein

Larry Bernstein, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker in North Carolina. As a private provider at Holly Springs Counseling Center I work with individuals, couples, families and groups. I co-facilitate a DBT Life Skills Group at the center. My therapy style is best described as eclectic. I am trained in numerous modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapies. Most of all, I believe in doing what works which means finding the appropriate therapeutic tools to help alleviate or resolve problems. I have worked with dual diagnosed clients for over 10 years at Wake County Human Services. I have also been a Bereavement Counselor with Hospice of Wake County. Additionally, I worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor with inpatient services at the State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center in Butner, North Carolina. I am a volunteer trainer with SAFEchild, a local non-profit in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I teach parenting courses. I also facilitated the Triangle Survivors of Suicide Support group for over 18 years. This group sponsors the annual Triangle SOS Conference. I am a member of the TCSP, Triangle Consortium for Suicide Prevention. This is a group of concerned individuals and organizations trying to make a difference in our community by sponsoring the annual Out of the Darkness walk, and raising awareness through education and outreach. I have presented on loss and grieving to professional groups including the NASW Summer Conference.
