a note from Katie

My area of focus is children ages 3-18 with an array of needs ranging from anxiety, depression and anger management, which also includes working with young children (12 and under) exposed to trauma. I also work with children who have multiple needs that can impact their overall social functioning such as autism, developmental delays and language delays that play a role in behavioral challenges. I can provide consultation and ongoing support/therapy in childcare settings.

I think therapy is a powerful tool that can support any family or child going through specific struggles in their lives. My goal is to support you and your children through this path to build on strengths and skills to help you find a way to live a positive and rewarding journey in life. It is never too early to build on skills and seek support and I believe that early

intervention is what helps make young children build skills for stronger, happier lives. I also believe that we go where the challenges are especially when working with young children. Children learn through play and experience, so it is important to give them natural opportunities to practice skills learned. I work with children and caregivers in the office as well as in childcare settings and homes in order to practice and build on skills.

I am nationally rostered in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work with young children exposed to significant traumatic events in their lives such as neglect or abuse. I am also trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program).
